enriching HOSPITALS THROUGH ARTISTIC EXPRESSION

Inscape is a not for profit arts organisation that has been operating in the Royal Hobart Hospital since 2015; running music and art programs for patients, their families and the staff. We love what we do and are so grateful to all who contribute to providing care to Tasmanians in hospital.

Inscape Tas enriches the healthcare experience for patients, their families and staff by providing access to inspiring and inclusive arts initiatives within Southern Tasmanian hospitals. Our programs transform and enrich the environment, enhance recovery and provide comfort at a time of great stress.

WHAT WE DO

  • We initiate, develop and deliver art projects in health care environments.

  • We facilitate professional development, mentorship and training for artists and musicians, to enable them to contribute positively within a non-art setting.

  • We provide skill development and wellbeing opportunities for staff in health care settings.

  • We ensure best practice in programs, through evaluation and quality assurance.

  • We are supported by private philanthropy and government grants.

The power of music can not be dismissed, the power of music in this place is tripled. In hospital your world shrinks so much that small things have an enormous impact.
